Kaiwaka Bugle, Staying in touch

Issues #6 and #7 will be online-only - Lindsey will be editing them as usual, but rather than collating them by hand and distributing print copies we be providing them here as always.

As we go through the Covid-19 lockdown, any new information that needs to be publicised outside of our normal publication cycle will be published here. If you have anything that you would like to share with our community in this time when people might not know what’s going on, please share it with us via e-mail to our editor, Lindsey or web people.

This especially applies to critical businesses that are still operating in the area, or can provide services to our farm community or vulnerable people.

Of course, we’re also always eager to see light-hearted things, so if you have any fun photos or stories of what you’re doing in Kaiwaka to get through the lockdown at home, we’d be happy to share those too.

What’s happening at Jaques

Jaques 4 Square, at the heart of Kaiwaka

People are being allowed in the store on a first-in, first-out basis and the queues are not very long - now that Stage 4 is in effect, we don’t have people from out of town trying to buy up everything.

To better protect people in the vulnerable age group, rather than going into the store to browse it’s best to phone in an order, and the staff will collect the items you want so you don’t have to spend any time in the store itself, or wait in a queue. You can call the store at (09) 4312 227.
